Boston Public Health Commission "Our Mattapan" Campaign

The goal of this project was to raise awareness through the “Our Mattapan” public service campaign against neighborhood violence. This was achieved by producing portraits of residents who had been affected by neighborhood violence. These portraits were to be displayed on buses, bus stops, and billboards.

David collaborated with the Creative Director of the Boston Public Health Commission to identify a direct style of portraiture that would accentuate the message of this campaign.

The result was a highly successful public service campaign that was featured on the front page of The Boston Globe. Due to the campaigns overwhelming success, The Boston Public Health Commission purchased three times the original number of billboards and extended the campaign for an additional month.
